Clean radii
The Novitain Capper series is a range of medical laboratory tools meant to seal sample (e.g. blood or urine) collection tubes in large quantities. The exterior design and development was a collaboration between Rake Lijnen and Bel Engineering.
Within the extremely demanding design boundaries of healthcare equipment in cleanroom environments, we applied a Clear Form & Rich Detail design principle in order to create a design that blends in to its environment, expresses brand personality and is there at the service of the user.
The use of over-dimensioned bending radii and a sterile looking color palette forms a tribute to the pre-plastics age where form was the result of the way it was manufactured.
