Mental healthcare co-creation

The Houtgroep (Wood Workshop) is part of the daytime activities at care institution Reinier van Arkel. De Houtgroep has a well-equipped wood workshop, where clients of the institution can learn the basic skills of woodworking in a pleasant and safe environment.

Within the organization there was the ambition to develop, produce and sell interior products on a more business level, assisted by social innovation driver Broed. Together they approached Rake Lijnen, asking them to help the Houtwerkplaats develop an interior collection and roll out production facilities.

In a series of co-creation sessions with clients and employees, we investigated the available possibilities and ideas, translated them into concepts and then built prototypes.

It is the intention that the organization will continue the co-creation method itself and that the products will be sold in-house.
