In collaboration with mental health organisation Reinier van Arkel and Broed, Rake Lijnen developed a range of wooden interior products. Goal of the project was to engage clients and to stimulate creative collaborations between Reinier van Arkel and organisations in the region.
Designer Marnix Oosterwelder chose a very interactive way of working, guiding workshop participants through a process of concept creation, design, functional development, production and marketing. As the skill level of clients varies, the designs actually embrace imperfection, adding a unique charm to the interior products. The wood workshop uses as many recycled and locally collected materials.
The designs reflect the clients’ creative skill level, but are also part of a organically evolving product collection that is actually for sale.
